Protge321's Turbo Build

nope.. had to remove it, no way the IC would have squeezed in there.

if i rear end someone however, i am gonna be burnt.

Thats the issue im having with my Perrin FMIC setup... I don't like that fact. Plus every now and then i tend to forget my car is lowered and hit the wheel stop things or backout of steep driveways and snag the bumper(need a new one now).

Also how do you have your IV mounted?

Edit: Just for s**** and giggles Id remove that check valve on the BOV and see if that makes any difference on your boost issue.

my bumper is in rough shape also, but the IC mounts much better and having no crash allows for much cleaner/shorter pipe routing. sacrifice that for safety of the vehicle and its strength at the front of the frame i guess.. lol

ill get some pictures of how its mounted tomorrow, just a bracket i made also i trimmed the bumper up so it fits nicely into its spot to hold it in place.

yea going to try the remove valve and disconnect wga to see if it solves that issue.. i guess under boosting is better than to much, well for the engine at least. ;)

The progress you have made on your car looks pretty good so far. If the problem with getting the crashbar back on where the pipes come through the core support or more or less the size of the IC?

You should also go back and edit your first post with your progress pics.

yea, a smaller IC might fit with routing through the frame but i know the 28x7x2.5 will not. i also have a sedan bumper which is a lot smaller than the msp front bumper so i dont have much play room at all.

pictures updated on first page.

just confirmed it is in fact the wga.. disconnected the vacuum line and took it for a drive and was boosting 6 constant throughout the high rpm range at about half throttle.

:D that put a smile on my face.

exactly one of the reasons i went external lol not too mention open dump at full psi sounds awesome lol

turkey your gonna have to play with the screw on your bov try in halfway in then adjust from there i believe the more out the screw is the slower reaction to relieve the charge and the more the screw is in shud make it release faster

i didn't see any kind of adjustment screw on the BOV.. i thought the HKS SSQV v2 was self adjusting. i could be wrong.

oh idk mine is a v1 and on the back theres a 10mm bolt n nut and u adjust that on mine maybe check your vac source

How do I adjust my SSQV?

First you should know that the usual tight/loose rules do not apply here.

The adjustment only affects the outside black valve, not the inside purple valve.

No matter how loose you adjust the bov, it will not leak. However, if you adjust it too loose, the parts inside will come apart and possibly jam the bov.

For most applications you want the loosest setting, which allows the bigger valve to open faster loosing all of the compressed air

If you adjust the bov more tight, the air will only come out of the small valve first, then the larger valve, depending on the tension. This will create a louder high pitched sound for the small valve, and a smaller deep pitched sound for the large valve. Some people like the bov tightened all the way for maximum "shreek" upon release.

You need a 10mm wrench to adjust. Loosen the nut closest to the bov slightly. Now you can adjust the top bolt to your liking. Go for a drive. Once the bolt is where you like it, turn the nut to the right to "lock" that position. Do not over tighten the bottom nut. Again, be careful not to over-loosen the top bolt. If you loosen it too much, it will come right out.

yea man, no adjustment screw on mine unfortunately..

this is the ssqv v1 which was adjustable.

yes, charge pipe to intake and with a relocated maf it must go before the maf, just like the bov.
