Please Help....My Nitrous Shuts down my Engine!!

As some of u might know i have a nitrous express wet kit which i had installed today...


Well...tonight i went out on a desolate road to test it out...

So...i open up the bottle all the way....and than drive down the road in second gear at

4000 rpms....

and...

Flip the switch for the soleniods...

and go to WOT (Wide open throttle)

And my car shuts down...the cel came on...as well as oil light...

the car restarted...and i did a second try...and the same thing happened..!!:wtf:

Can Any Body Help Me!!
 
That's my plan on monday...but i still want to know how why it's happening
 
you know it would be funny if a bumd ass installed it adn tapped your oil instead of the fuel ROFL. which would explain the oil light and the shutdown
 
I don't think that was it...

I was talking w/ CELTICBASS and he told me about the pills (jets)...and it turned out that the idiot who installed my nitrous kit didn't put a pill in the fuel line...and so..my car shut down b/c no fuel was going in...

that's what i think...

But as soon as i got the intake off the car and unscrewed the lines, i put in a 35 N20 and 22 fuel pills...which should give me a 50 shot...

I put everything back on together and went for a test run about 30 min ago...

And while rolling in 2nd gear @ 4000rpm's i shot nitrous and it didn't feel all that great....

my second time shooting...i was in 1st gear...and hit the soleniods switch and the wot...and it felt the speed pick up quick...than went to 2nd and shot again...and finished up 3rd gear (no shot)

i really didn't take the car up past 60 miles per hour..the speed limit by me is only 45 mph!

and i am running on 1 rear donut...i blew a tire on firday night!

Any wayz...When i got home i immediatley checked my intake..and noticed that there was something clear on it ...it looked like water...i am not sure...i tightened all the bolts again..and plan to try shooting again in about 1 hr...

Anyone know what could have happened...

When i shot it didn't feel like this big burst of speed...

How does it feel for anyone when u hit the nos??
 
When you shoot nitrous, a 50 shot is not gonna make you jerk like in the movies. It will pick up quick, but not like The Fast and the Furious potrays.
 
Well thank you linux for that bit of info...

I just meant...it would make the tire chirp...like if i shoot it in second gear...or even first...
 
when i spray mine in first i usually spin. and on not putting the pills in the fuel u were using waaaaayyyyy to much fuel. on the jet sizes i use no2-35, and fuel-21.
 
and your going all the way to THIRD gear and your NOT or barely geting to 60?....dude....YOU are shifting WAY to soon....you need to wind up a 4 banger to get the power......don't be afraid to run that needle up to 6K mark......it LIKES it there.

and dude....get your rear tire fixed before you get out there playing around like this....you do not have the control you should with that donut on the ground.....

As for the CLEAR SUBSTANCE on your intake...that looked like water....it probably was....only it was CONDENSATION.....the N2O is cold.....propably just condensation on the tube.

Rear tire will be fixed on Monday...tuesday at the latest!

That's one of the reasons why i stayed below 60 mph...

Can anyone confirm for me that i am running a 50 shot??

I am using two pills i put in a 35 N20 and 22 fuel pills...which should give me a 50 shot...right???

I just wanna avoid running lean...or having any more problems w/ my kit!

oh yeah...i didn't get a chance to check the spark plugs b/c i started to snow in NJ and it still hasn't stopped...it's 10PM by me
 
Dude get a wideband 02 sensor or egt gauge at the least. Nitrous is risky business and things can go wrong very quickly with it. Dont tune your car without the proper equipment, It is imperative that you know what is going on at all times with your a/f ratio. Prevent destroying a rod or melting a piston. Spend the extra 150 on the gauge so you dont take the risk and end up paying 1500-3000 dollars to fix it.
Just my very valuable 2 cents.

I plan to purchase a dual pod..and connect a A/F ratio guage..and a Nitrous guage also...

I figure that i have to be running rich right now...so i should be fine...i don't really plan to be shooting much right now... the weather here in NJ is snow...rain..and snow...

Hey spoolin...what do u mean by tune my car...u mean..the pill sizes?

When I use the 150 wet shot on my truck, it feels like an increasing wave of power, it comes on fast, but nothing very harsh... I can't spray in 1st gear very easily though, with the 3.73 Rear I am running, I will spin enough to get sideways immediately.. I usually hit it about 45MPH in 2nd gear on street tires, unless I'm on slicks. I have tried spraying at a 10MPH or so roll on slicks.. Fun stuff. :) The front end gets awfully light...
