Passener Air Bag Off light stays On ?

I see this is typical in the older models ... but I did not recall seeing this until I had the operating system update from .51 to .55 ... is this still typical for the Air Bag Off light to stay on ALL THE TIME when there is no one over 50lbs in the passenger seat?

I've still got v51 on my car and it does the same.

Mine does this, I suppose there is no way to disable it? Only vehicle I've owned that does this.
