so what i know is that the p2009 and the p0660 are both related to the vics/vtcs systems. i have them both removed from the manifold but the sensors are there and capped. my question is , should i just got to the junkyard and grab the sensors or should i buy brand new? and ive searched all over online and cant seem to find the vics/ vtcs solenoid anywhere to buy.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

No reason to buy new, they are about $5 at a junkyard and over $100 new and they don't typically fail for a long time. There are plenty laying around the shop I could send you one for the cost of shipping. Are you sure the sensor is at fault?

I have no idea, but the vaccum lines aren't even plugged in

It doesn't matter, because it's indicating a circuit failure.

Do the following if you know how and it'll diagnose your failure.

1. Verify the VTCS solenoid valve White/Red wire has battery voltage with the ignition on.

2. Check the resistance of the VTCS solenoid to determine if it is open or shorted. The resistance should be around 22-26 ohms. If the resistance is obviously out of range, the solenoid valve is bad.

3. If the solenoid has good power to it and the resistance is testing good, check the Pink wire for an open or shorted circuit between the VTCS solenoid valve and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) terminal 73. If all test good and the code resets after a couple of key cycles, the PCM may be faulty.
