Opinions on Springs?

Ok so here's the deal.


I have decided to lower my speed and need some opinions on springs to get.

Please keep in mind that this is my daily driver.
I don't mind a stiffer ride, but i can't slam it because of roads, speed bumps, etc.
I am going to be running stock shocks for now due to how expensive new ones are lol.

I am currently considering:
RPM Streets
Eibach Pro Kit
H&R's? Which Ones?

Please help me with suggestions, experiences, and opinions. =]

I'd rock the H&R's as they are cheaper and are really good springs. You can find a whole bunch of reviews about them and There's nothing but positive comments about them.

Which set of H&Rs? There are different types if I am not mistaken.

And are your fenders rolled?

There are only two sets of H&R's.

1.) H&R lowering springs $220+
2.) H&R set of Coil overs $1000+

I was referring to the Lowering springs, since that's what you're looking for. And no my fenders aren't rolled

Yeah I am not spending the money for the coilovers haha.

I just thought there were more than one type of H&R lowering spring.

So do you have rub issues? Are you stock wheel and tire size?

Yeah I'm not spending the money either right now on Coil overs. I do want some, but have to take care of other priority's first. Later on down the road, i will get coil overs though.

As far as i know there is only one. As for there being more types of different springs. I know Eibach and Tein makes quite a bit of different type's. I'm Currently on Stock height and rims right now. I will be switching out pretty soon

Yeah I know aboug Eibachs and Teins making different types. I just thought H&R did too. Oh well guess I was wrong.


Do you rub at all?

i have h&r on mine ran 225/45/18 on rx8 wheels and no rub. i now have 235/40/18 and i rubbed in the rear on bumps but then i rolled my fenders. no problems!

Well so far you two are making these H&Rs sound pretty slick.

Agree on the RPMs. I got one of their last sets of pre-production ones that I am running on the stock shocks/struts with no problems, and I have a set of their K-specs I will be installing with Konis when I get home.

RPMs lower just enough to make the wheels fit the wheel wells perfectly, but not so low that you scrape on pebbles in the road.

its a great happy medium.

If I were to buy springs again I would not hesitate to go with the Eibach Pro-kit again. If I didn't go coilovers I would get them again. Definitely helped with the ride, whats a good height and didn't hurt daily drivability, my wife never complained about the ride, nor my 58 year old dad that complains about everything.

Because i thought they are rated at 1.4 front 1.3 rear. Which would be similar to the H&Rs i believe.

im just under 2 finger gap all around, the measurements arent always super accurate.
but yes a half inch can sometimes make ALL the difference. i would love to drop 2 inches and tuck tire, but i simply cant do it and be practical in my area.

Nope I was extremely happy with them. YOu can get an idea of how low it was in this picture.

i'm happy with the hr's so far. they didnt kill the ride to much. seems to sit a little lower in the front which i dont car for, and i havent made it to the track on em yet either. but they are a good choice.
