Old MS6 owner, new to forum

Morning all,

Leased a MS6 2 years ago and liked it so much that I bought the car for the lease buyback last May. At that point I decided to do some research to enhance the car, and discovered this forum. I've used forums for years but only for my motorcycles (currently own Yamaha FJR 1300).

Since registering for the forum, and with the gracious assistance of of wannabe, I was able to find a local dealership to do the clutch replacement AND the cam tensioner replacement. Shortly thereafter I used Tuner Steves 'things to do' list to buy and install a Cobb Ram Air inlet, Turbo inlet and AP. The car runs like a fricking bear now!

I'm a legal resident of Ohio but am a consultant working in Arizona and the car is here, and my Ohio registration is up so I have to get emissions testing here. Have been searching this forum and the Cobb forum but have not been able to find out if I need to install the stock map before doing the testing. Based on the relative lack of hits, I'm guessing that I don't have too but any advice would be appreciated.

Next up for the car... suspension work. Will be installing coilover shocks (and lowering about 1"), rear sway bar, front strut braces and rear motor mounts. Will be scouring the forum looking for a place to do the install near Goodyear, Az - any suggestions would be helpful, also. After that I'll be looking at exhast and TMIC options but no hurries, the Cobb has done a lot of the 'heavy lifting' already and the bang for the buck on those options involves a lot more buck!

Welcome Red...You might try posting your question to some of the Arizona folks specifically. Maybe someone there has the same setup and knows specifics of AZ's emissions testing. Good luck.

Answered my own question this evening by taking the car in for emissions testing without remapping. Passed, good to go (detect)

Welcome to the forum Red! Nice to hear that your first mods were so effective... and it makes me really want an AP now.

Oh, and what was the cam tensioner fix? Did you have a noticable problem before, or is it more of a preventative item?
