NVH issues

MSP & MS3
One of the main reasons I bought a Mazda (over the dodge for example) was because I felt the interior was higher quality. Though it certainly looks better, I'm very dissapointed with the amount of "annoying noises" (for lack of a better term). I understand that the head unit is aftermarket and thus, doesn't fit quite as well as a stock unit would. Nevertheless, the fact that it vibrates and rattles around inside pisses me off. Even more annoying is the sound coming from the rear deck. It sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic.... near the speaker grilles on the top shelf behind the rear seats. Drives me nuts!!! Does anyone else have this problem???
Sure, I can turn the volume up and mask the sound but why should I have to do that on a new car? Not to mention the fact that I like to sometimes drive without the radio on. I've brought it to the dealership only for them to brush me off.... someone tried to fix it but quickly gave up and shook his head. "Sorry man, I just don't think there's anything we can do for ya!" The car has 3k miles!!! (and has done this virtually every one of them) I just can't take it anymore. New cars aren't supposed to make these sounds.

Dunno man...I really don't notice these sounds other than the rattle from the sub when it's trying to hit low notes. That may be my license plate, too...

Other than that...I don't notice the radio rattle but others have and there is a fix or some sort if you search. I think it was as simple as double sided tape, or something. Also...remember...there are very few screws holding the interior together. It's a rattley car because it's all plastic clips...1stMP3inNH has said as much: "great for installs" but bad for noise.

The radio area rattles are motly from the pop clips holding on the trim bezle. Remove the bazel and use hot glue to keep the clips in place. Also use thin weather stripping tape to isolate EVERYTHING in the radio are. That took care of the issue on my MP3.

I forgot to mention... the dealer DID put some felt inbetween the actual head unit and the enclosure (all sides) as well as tie up the loose wires in the back and wrap them with foam. Unfortuneatly, that only partially fixed that. Honestly, I can "live" with the noises coming from the head unit... but the #$@ing noise coming from the rear deck drives me nuts. I did a search and found a few others with similar problems being able to fix it by first putting on a song with some bass and then just movin s*** around... sucks ass that I have to even do something like this (I had a 95 cirrus with over 100k miles on it/not a PEEP!!) but if it fixes the problem... I'll deal. Thanks for the info guys! L8R
