new rims, will stock p5 fit my rx7?

:
2003.5 Black Protege5
im getting some new rims and tires for my p5 i attached a pic of them below

they are 17"x7.5" with a 42mm offset, i am planning on lowering the car in the future(a few inches at most) will that create a problem with rubbing?

will my stock p5 tires fit on my 89 rx7? i know there are issues going the other way cause of the center bore being too smallfor the p5, but i hope there isnt a problem this way cause the rx needs new tires and a upgrade to 16" rims would be nice as well

tia:)

42 will rub when you lower your car. 17x7 you might get away with it on a drop under 1.5 But not 7...

as long as you have shims for it you should be fine, as long as the lug setup on the P5 rims are 113.4mm 5 lug configuration. and rubbing won't be an issue, as long as you use the right size tire for it.

Only thing that could be an issue is the offset. since you are going to bigger wheel and tire set up, you might have rubbing issues. and also might affect how far you can turn your front wheel.

Honestly, for a 17" rim, if you have the option, I would go for a plus 38 offset. but if you are stuck with the rims you got. just make sure you watch tire clearances in the front.

Shouldn't be an issue fitting on your RX-7. One of the vendors on the boards says he pops his P5 rims on his RX-7s on a regular basis.
