Today I should be receiving the Pioneer 5500BHS from Crutchfield. I also bought the add-on for keeping steering wheel controls and also satellite radio.

Does anyone have any install advice/tips/tricks? For those of you who have added satellite radio, how did you run the wire/antenna for that? I want to run it out the back to the roof, but that's a lot of disassembly work in order to tuck the wire down the whole vehicle.

Every time I do a job like this, I learn something that would've made me do it differently, so help me out if you can.

You really don't have to take anything apart to run the antenna to the rear door. I just tucked mine under all the door threshold plastics, then ran it under the carpet under the third row and back by the spare tire. All you really need is a flat blade screwdriver or a putty knife to slide under the plastic edges (saves the fingertips that does) Start at the rear and work your way forward, you can lift the rubber rear door seal off its flange and re-install it with the antenna wire tucked up next to the metal.

Cool, thank you sir. Starting at the rear is a great tip.

I remember when I ran a satellite radio antenna about 8 years ago, I started at the front and ended up with a bunch of slack in the back.

I also started from rear. You will have to lift up the rubber molding and slide the antenna under. I suggest thy you make like a "z", what I mean by that is vertical, horizontal, vertical, to prevent cutting at the trunk area. Also, a old shopper card of credit card also works well for tucking in the wire under the moldings. Good luck...
