Do you have more info, like a web link?

Vince.

Originally the Neo company said that it worked with the CX-7 with or without navigation. Recently another member here and I both called and were told it DOESN'T work - and that they ran into some technical issue. They changed their website and at least as of today the CX-7 isn't currently supported.

Now I'm tempted. That one sounded like it would be really good.

I know, I know, I said somewhere else I was happy with a transmitter. And that's true. But that was before there was such a good alternative to covet.

I will be calling them today at 11:01 (8:01 their time). :)

Any idea about the difficulty of install...? I would like to buy the unit, go to a local CarAudio guy and pay them to do the install... would it be safe to say a couple/few hours...?

<--- cluless.

wow... ummm... okay.

The unit is NOT ready... and the person I spoke with was kind-of a "dick" about it.

I inquired if the unit is ready to ship yet because I had heard that it might be. He asked if I had gone to the website and I said "yes, I'm looking at it now". He asked: "Well, what does it say...?". I said: "It says you're shipping soon, but I was just checking in-case the website hadn't been updated yet". His response was, "Well, I think a manufacturer's website is a bit more acurate than a message board..." - NOTE: I never SAID I heard it from a message-board... I just said that I read it online.

To which I replied: "Okay... I was just checking..."

His tone was as if he was annoyed by this - I wonder if they/he get(s) a lot of calls about this... even if so, he shouldn't be taking a condescending tone with a potential customer. All I was doing was asking a question.

I really want my iPod to work, but I also think Sales Reps and CustServ Reps need to keep their s*** together when dealing with customers.

You should have said "I'm Detective John Kimble. I'm gonna ask you a bunch of questions." "Who is your daddy and what does he do?"

I called MP3your.com and spoke to David. He said that they have it on stock. I told him that the manufacturer's website says it is still coming soon so he called them only to be told that it doesn't work on the CX7 accdg to the manufacturer. So WTF?

If anyone here with the Tech Package that had it installed and working pls report.

That's might be because there is technically an '06 CX-7 which they (Neo) claim works with the already-shipped version. I don't know how many real '06 CX-7s are out there... but this guy says that it does work with them. NOT the '07s... (Yet)

Interesting I thought the CX7 was an early release 07 model there were not 2006 models here...

I thought the same thing - it's quite possible he is talking out his posterier-end. I do not know either way.

I'm pretty positive there is no '06 CX-7. The car came out in the U.S. market first as an early '07 model.

I think he's talking out his you-know-what. This is a first-year car. There ARE no '06 CX-7's

Hey all, new here. I bought a CX-7 three days ago and on the same day ordered this Neo ipod adapter from mp3yourcar. I'm having it installed soon and can report back.

I must say, I'm a little anxious since I can't find a single post online with someone confirming that it does work with the Tech package. I am optimistic though, since I wrote mp3yourcar the following email:

I see you recommend the Neo iOn-1 iPod Mazda [y-PODMAZV1] for the CX-7, but I just wanted to double check compatibility before I purchased one. My main concerns are will I be able to control the ipod from the steering wheel controls, and will it work if the navigation (technology) package is installed. Other ipod connectors for this car I've researched have had these limitations.

David responded:

I can assure you that ours will work with your vehicle. We have a 30 day money back guarantee for your assurance.

I'm not really interested in money back, of course, since I will have to pay for installation whether it works or not. In any case, I will report back when I have some results. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has installed the unit in the meantime.

Sadly, it looks like I won't bother installing the unit. I forwarded mp3yourcar's email to the manufacturer, and here is what Logan Fox at Neocaraudio had to say:

Neo sells its adapters to Mp3yourcar, i will let david know that they are incorrect. The 2007 CX-7 is NOT compatible but we are working on it as we speak and should have a solution within the next month. Please do not purchase an adapter at this time for your car, it will NOT work.

On the bright side, it looks like a solution is right around the corner.
