So my rear motor mount is really bad and i have the new one but i need some help to put it on my self because i dont want to pay for someone to do it unless i have to . any comments or advices on how can i change it?
thanks!

yeah its not too bad but u definately Need a buddy to help u we had like 8 extensions on that friggin ratchet

It's soooo easy to replace... If you have the transmission out. Lol. Seriously... I replaced it on my P5 on a lift and it was a son of a b****. But the other day when I had the transmission out of the 'speed, I was looking at it and seriously think I'd rather remove the trans to replace it. I can R&I the transmission in these cars in a little over an hour versus an hour and a half fighting to r&r the rear mount.

I have done it twice now, it's really not that bad at all. In the how to it says to snap off the lower stud for the plastic wiring 'conduit' but you only need to bend it a little then bend it back, no need to make an unnecessary hole in your firewall. I recommend 3 long extensions and a breaker bar.

i just checked for that one at dealer..and they charge just 1 hour of labour to do that one, since it's really hard to get at....for the trouble i'm gonna pay..i already have the AWR mount..not worth all the trouble if you ask me..

If all they charge is an hour I would have the stealership do it if you are having that much trouble with it.

BTW it goes in alot easier than it comes out.

i triple checked for just that one and ...yes .8 hour..so for around 80$ its's done at STEALERSHIP....if you have the mount..

I doubt a dealer would install an aftermarket part though, even if the car isn't under warranty.

ITS NOT THAT HARD!!! If u take off the intake pipe from the throttle body u can see the top of the mount, if u can get somebody underneath to take off the engine side mount then take off the body mount replace and leave loose and put the engine side back on then with the body mount still loose u have a little room to play so get the bolt back into the mount then tighten it all down

I love my 88 duro mounts its a different car with them, yeah theres cabin vibration but i like it, the car roasts them through first and half a second no problem, i dont know if i've ever spun the tires before the mounts haha

wow i never tought it would be this hard i actually tried but didnt get too far, im going to try going to the dealership see if they would do it i have the mount hopefully they install it for a good price a mechanic would charge me 150 to do it i thought that was way to much but hopefully i get this done fast because is damaging the rest of my mounts =/

you guys where right..after going to the STEALERSHIP and wanting to install, the mecanic said to me 1.5hr to replace that one..and its even hard for them ..

Drive it down to jax, fl and ill help you install it.... Ive done it about 4-6 times and its not hard once you know the tricks.. the hardest part is breaking the nuts loose.

That motor mount wasnt that bad to do. Take the strut brace off, get a long extension and some wobble sockets. I got it out through the top.

Its hard for them because they prob have all kids working there that never worked on a protege, and like 1 or 2 good techs that actually know there stuff.
