Need help! MSP Deck stuck!

Alright folks, not sure if I've seen something like this on here yet or not...

The CD in my Kenwood deck (MP919 I think, MSP one anyway) is stuck, it wont eject.

How do I get it out?
I'm a bit pissed, because the disk that is in it is the 3rd one I have ever put in there.... It's not a burned CD, its a "real" one.

Any help on this is MOST appreciated!

There is usually a small hole on the deck that you can push an unfolded paper clip into to ejects CD's. I haven't verified that our Kenwoods have this, but working with steros for a few years just about every maker does this. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I've reset it a bunch of times.
Resetting allows the face to fold like it should (it stops in the open position when it wont eject, and it wont hide when the car turns off, etc).
I've looked REALLY hard for a hole to manually eject the disc with, but have found nothing.
This is frustrating.

Does it make a sound like it's trying to eject when you push the button? I had the Kenwood Z727 do that to me once. If it does try sliding a ID card or licence under the CD and lightly press it up to catch the rollers and it should start to come out...at least far enough to grab it and pull. Be sure not to force anything or start jamming anything in there. May be alittle drastic but it works.

Yes, it does make the "im trying to eject" sounds, but because of the dust covering in front of the deck, I can't see the disc in there...

I will try that though, thanks!!!!!!!!!

Just go through the dust cover at a downward angle and scoop up and you have to hold it up and press eject. You should feel if you're under the CD. You'll feel the card or what ever you're using bow.

How did you reset the unit?
The little button is a reset button but automaticly initiates a eject disc. Have the face folded down and unplug the negative battery terminal and leave it off for a few minutes. It might eject it.

Also I have been able to get disc to eject by pressing eject and while its trying give the side of the dash a stern hit.

A stern hit?
My new car??
I've seen the results of stern hits on enough electronic equipment owned by friends. I never hit electronic gear.
The card idea worked, I pressed eject, and poked my debit card into the slot, and the disc came right out.
Thanks ToBeBackDoc!!

I didn't say hit the deck. Give the side of the dash next to the deck a stern, not violent, hit. just enough to shake it a bit.

Update:
I had my deck replaced last week (took around a week for the dealer to get one).
I was happy to have it exchanged, thinking I wouldn't have to get frustrated with it ever again.
WRONG!
The first deck had a problem getting the CD out past the tiny lip inside, it would stick there.
This deck won't fold the face down to let the CD out, It only folds down like when you hold the eject button for three seconds, you have to pry it down lower to let the CD slip out the small opening.
The face won't hide when the car is turned off either, it flips up like it's going to hide, then it folds back down until it's horizontal.
The only time the eject button works like it is supposed to is when there is no CD inside...
I went to the dealer again this morning, I've got another one on order....
rggrg

Am I the only thinking that these head units are ummmmm shall we say...crap? Too many people with this problem.

Funny, as my Z828 has been flawless....so far. 19 months and counting.

Wholly bad luck batman! My deck has done nothing but perform flawlessly.

For the deck flipping issue when turning the car off; You may have already checked this but, check to make sure the delay isn't set really long. It is adjustable to close in increments after you turn of the car and can go 30+ minutes long without flipping if it's set that way. It took me a while to figure that one out but I use a slower setting so I can disconnect the face. It's under menu...you should be able to find it.

However, the half closing issue may simply be mechanical and not programming.

I set the delay to "0".
So I know it's not that.

I'm upset with it, but I've got a nice MP3 CD in there, so I can listen to that, or the radio....

Kenwood handles CD-R and CD-RWs worse then any other unit. They are disc and program picky. Now and again it will just stop reading the disc. If the unit can't recognize the CD as even a CD it doens't know anything is loaded into it.

I had a customer return a Alpine changer for not reading CDs turned out it was only on his CD-Rs and the Alpine only skipped. I tried the disc in a few Kenwoods and it would not play at all.
All the Eclipse and Pioneer Decks played the same disc flawlessly.

Welll, atleast you still have a positive attitude, argh! LOL

Sorry , I tried!

I know it's not just CD-R's, because it acts the exact same way with store bought CD's...

If my dealer was being an ass about this, I might be upset, but they are good people, so I don't mind toooo much

Its good to know atleast the dealer is taken care of you.
As I mentioned Kenwoods seem to have the most picky lazer system but I have never heard of them being that bad before.
I guess you just have luck like I do.
