so my wife was driving the car and she was coming to a stop. She put the clutch in and the whole car stalled and died and the clutch got stuck down to the floor. eventually it came back up but it doesn't spring back the way it should, it very slllooooowwwly comes back up and its really hard to shift. took it to the dealership and they said it was the master cylinder and slave cylinder, and they had to order new ones. got a v6 maxima as a rental from the dealership but i miss my baby. anyone got any idea what could have caused this??

did you look at your clutch fluid reservoir before you took it in? if so, was there any fluid in it?

no, i didn't think to check the fluid resevoir, but finally heard back from mazda, they replaced the two cylinders and now the clutch works just fine, but it still takes a shot of steroids to shift in and out of second. its not grinding, it just takes ALOT of effort. but they said they'll keep working on it. good part is they did the clutch adjustment thats popular on the MS6 while they were at it.

is your wife a woman?

that was my first guess at what happened to the car... maybe she'll feel guilty and stop stealing it ha ha, doubt it though, our poor mustang doesn't nearly compare to the 6

apparently, i have a pressure plate problem... this is where my knowledge of manual transmission's stops, so i have no idea what that is now, but at least the service tech is being really awesome about it!!!
