okay so i know im prob breaking everybodys balls with 1000 questions about this test pipe but theres a couple of things i still wanna know?

in the SU website it states you have to replace the "second cat", what would happen if i were to replace both cats with 2 test pipes. would that add even more HP (Keep in mind i have zero knowledge of engine/ exhaust stuff)

and what are the exact measurments of the test pipe? width length, type of piping....?

i was thinking of asking my buddy to maybe make me one, hes an engenear and built everything from scratch for his talon...

and is it and easy 4 bolt on instal. or do i need to buy additional flanges for the 2nd cat?

im lost help i wanna get it it but wanna do my research first.

and I know what your all gonna say "why do i just get a TBE"

because im a student and in other words BROKE ! heheehehehee....

thanks again

you wouldn't be able to replace both cats with a testpipe. you would need a downpipe to do that. they only make the one tp to replace the second cat.

if you buy the SU or turboxs tp, you don't need any flanges. like a 10 minute job. if you plan to upgrade your exhaust further i would go with the turboxs, because they are making a shorty downpipe in the near future, plus a duel exit exhaust.

the turboxs one looks like a diff shape than the streEt- Unit one, and its 3" and the other 2.3" does that mean more flow?

and i saw in the utube clips and crap load of smoke from the exhuats, is that only when you strat the car or all the time?

the SU one is bendless, its a straight pipe with the flange welded on at an angle. i think the su testpipe might be better if the rest of your exhaust is stock, but if you plan on upgrading you don't want to have wasted the money. i have the Txs tp, the quality is awesome, but i haven't installed it yet.

i believe the smoke happens when you start it and when you are stopped and idling. i'm not sure if this can be fixed unless your turbo is rebuilt or a bigger one. it might be fixed with an ems. i'm not 100% about this problem though, i know there are a bunch of threads about this though

i called Street Un and they said it shouldn't happen and if it does its only when you start you car....

Mine smokes REALLY bad since I installed my Test Pipe. It only happens after the car has been run and then when you are idling.

It is most pronounced for me when I Auto-X. After I make my first run and I let the car cool down then shut it off it's all ok. Then about 20-30min later I start my car for the second run and when it is idling it smokes bad. When you hit the gas it puffs a BIG cloud then while you are driving it stops smoking until you stop and get back down to an idle again.

I'm probably just going to put the cat back on so I don't have to deal with the smoke.

i wanna get the TP but if my car is smokin like a 85 Nissan altima, im gonna get caught by the cops in no time, plus doesnt it leave alot of black grime on the exhaust tips?

If anything it will increase it. The only way to reduce it will be to get the car tuned to lean it out some, that way less un-burnt fuel makes it to the rear bumper. :D

So why would you really get this part if its gonna smoke so bad? Isnt that pretty embarrasing???

ya the smoke is really the only thing im iffy on, ive spoken to other ppl with it and they told me it only happends when you start the car or idle a bit...

but i really want that extra umpf and sound... i know im stupid...

No, i was not sayin that I am just curious. I would like the power also if it didnt smoke so bad.. I hate seeing little ricers with the damn smoke all over the place when they down shift on the free way.. Im guessing thats what this will do..

Wow i was lookin at turboxs and i just got confused.. I have not been under the car to look, but how many parts are there to the exhaust. It goes DP, which then would connect to the "cat back" exhaust system?? Or is there something in between there? Cause it was sayin there giving a free "race pipe" for the evo 8 with the turbo back system. Lost now!!!

on the speed6 it goes, stock dp with cat>tp with cat>cat back... turbo xs tbe system would be, shorty dp>TP>catback. atp & cpe downpipe replace the stock dp and tp.

Ok so regardless if you do it now or later if you do a complete turbo back exhaust then you have to have a test pipe???

if your getting the cpe or atp dp you don't have to have a tp, because it replaces both cats. if you wanted to get the tp though just to have some more power, plus the ease so install/uninstall for warranty work, then you could get the turboxs shorty dp when it come out. also if you get a tp and then later get the atp or cpe, then you wouldn't need the tp anymore and just sell it or w/e.
