Ordered a 55 watt hid kit and went to install it tonight and realized the bulbs don't match up to the factory ones. Is there a certain type of bulb you have to get if you want the 55 watt kit?? Searched and didn't find any how to on it so I'm posting this up. Thanks for any help.

IMO i like the stock lights.. HID low beams and matching fogs would deff. look better tho.

we have HID low beams?

in my opinion, getting 55w for headlights is just dumb. No offense, but ur gunna blind people. If you want more output just get different hid temp like 5k and get a 35w fog or even 55w fog for more light output.

The stock output on my '04 was absolutely horrible. I could barely see anything at night. I got a 35w kit now, and it looks OEM.

However, 55w? That's pushing it, especially if you're going to use the stock projectors. And who the hell would recommend putting that in the fogs? You guys are nuts. Fogs aren't made to be spotlights over a mile distance.

If you're going to run a 55w kit, you're gonna need to run a wire to the battery to power it up. The OEM low beams are a 35w kit.

If you're looking for better light output, work on the fog lights first. Those seem to yield the biggest gains. Also, make sure your headlight lenses aren't hazy, since that cuts down on light output as well.

And, not to contradict anyone before me, but higher color temp (in Kelvin (K)) is inversely related to useable light (lumens). A 14000K bulb puts out much less light than the OEM 4300K bulbs.

Personally, I don't recommend going above 6000K for your low beams. Fogs, I would stay between 3000K and 8000K. High beams are fair game (if you want to spend the money on HID replacements.
