MPG check

when I got the mp3, it sucked on gas, ~450kms per tank. Then once I got about 5000 kms on it, she was fine at ~550kms. Now, after near two years, she's only getting 475-500.

Be interesting to see what i get out of the speed. I too drive easy around town most of the time.

I was getting 31-32 MPG before my CAI. Now, I'm getting about 25-27 MPG. I'm not blaming the CAI. It's all me, since I can't keep my foot out of it now. Sounds too cool. It was just a normal 4 banger before, now it growls :D

I'm afraid what will happen when I finally do the exhaust!

I have been tracking MPG since i bought the car. Here are my MPG per tank results:

15.60
26.38
21.22
21.60
18.37
19.52
26.05
23.58
17.89

Overall average: 21.13

This sucks! I am going to dropping a wad of dough on gas.

The thing that is even worse is there i have been on three 100+ miles interstate trips.

I've been getting a constant 27 to 30 MPG since I got my MSP. 3300 miles on it now. I put about 80 miles a day on it, to and from work, 50% freeway, 50% stop & go.

I have noticed one thing. My MPG is directly related to the brand of gas I'm running at the time. In my area, I've tried Shell, Exxon, Conoco & Chevron. I get the best mileage with Chevron Premium. (93 octane) & Conoco Premium. The car runs like absolute CRAP on Shell Premium and the others are hit/miss.

Unfortunately, Chevron is the most expensive. :/

I think the best I got yet was 550km, but that was because I actually drove sensible during the long weekend because of all the cops around. Typically I think I am getting 450-500km, which is not that great, but i have fun doing it ;)

Me too. I drive pretty sensibly.
