I called my dealer today to check into this (Mazda Direct, Columbus Ohio) they confirmed that there is a program going on to fix the #4 motor mount problem and that they had received the parts today (7-5-07) to start doing the work. I have a service appointment on Saturday and I've been told it will be the first one that they will be doing, so they are eager to do it to see what all it involves.
I'll dig for info while I am there and report back my findings.
i see no recall info at mymazda.com or the NHTSA site. it's too late for me to call my dealer today so i guess i'll have to wait to find out if my car can get a new bolt or what.
Guys PLEASE keep something in mind. Mazda is going ot do the bear minimum to postpone the problem. This may not at all be a fix. This is no different then what they did to the MP3/MSP endlinks which is continuously swap bushing unitl the car is out of warrenty then you are boned.
I highly suggest everyone be ready to start a s*** storm if this is not a permanat fix and only a patch. As its just a bolt and a washer, Dont expect a hell of a lot.
I called wednesday and got an appointment for today. Yesterday I called again to make sure they were thinking of the same recall I was, and not the floor mat one or the various TSB's. The nice lady explained in detail the procedure for the engine mount... went right along with the PDF's someone uploaded. In fact, I need to leave now.. the place is 2 hours away. (scratch)
I don't see why some places are telling people to wait a month.. they can't have THAT many MS3's on the lot, can they? If you have more than one dealership in your area, try different ones.
Yay! I called 2 other dealerships in town and found one that didn't have a clue about the recall, but he looked into it and found they had one part in stock. So I'm going in today. (before they realize they should have saved it for their inventory!)
I think it's weird that Houston is so behind the times with this....
