Mazda 2 - 2008 - Remove console between front seat

Morning all,

Like the clever clogs I am, I managed to drop a mobile phone sim down the side of the brake handle in our Mazda 2.

Can anyone tell me how to safely and easily remove the handbrake/centre floor console.

I have not removed it yet, but I know that the front part of the handbrake slot is a separate piece which I have pulled up from around the handbrake hole. If you can pull that off it might give you enough space to get the phone.

Hi Guys,

I have a 2008 mazda demio (manual transmission) and while trying to change the head unit I found a pin adapter/connector by passenger side near to the gear stick but by the foot area. Anyone can tell me what that's for ?

carefully pull straight up, it is held in place with Christmas tree clips, but be careful not to pull too hard as you will need to disconnect the harness plugs at the aux jack and 12V power outlet

sounds like the obd2 port, did it look like this?

on american mazda 2s the port is by the drivers knee, but it might be different on rhd models

Naw its not that port. I found that right under the dash on drivers side. This one is actually on passenger side. I'll try to get a pic of it

Its a six pin female connector found right under gear stick but accessible only by remove side panel by passenger side.
