Just what are the lug nuts on this car made of?

Getting ready for a long road trip tomorrow. Rotated tires on Saturday, but could not find my torque wrench or breaker bar..so I used my impact wrench (electric) to get the wheels off. Ended up ruining the wheel lock key in the process. There are 5 auto-parts stores in my area (four of which are major chains) and NONE of them carry any replacement lug nuts (one could order but would take 2 days), so I'm headed to the dealer to see if they can get the locks off and replace with regular nuts until I can order a set... Has the inability to easily find a replacement lug nut happened to anyone else?

Are you asking what the lug nuts are ‘made of’ or size/thread/pitch?

I don’t know what metal it is made of but my best guess would be steel with chrome plating.?.

For size, see thread below. It is a common size and should be readily available in most chain stores. You can also try going to your local mechanic or service garage as they usually have a bucket/barrel of left over lug nuts. Ask nicely and they should give you one, unless they recently recycled them. You’d have to bring a matching stud (buy one from home depo) to make sure you get the right size.

Some thoughts.
-Unless you are running some super expensive or exotic rims, you do NOT need wheel locks –even these are not fully effective if someone really want to jack your rims. Alloy wheel are so common nowadays, unlike the ‘90s when steel rim with hub cap was the norm.
-If you get stuck trying to get a lug nut off, try using your foot to step/stomp on OE spare tire wrench. Our legs are much stronger than our arms. Make sure you are wearing shoes with a hard sole and don’t do this to tighten bc you will over tighten.

I though he was being sarcastic on his question but maybe the op was indeed trying to find out what the lug nuts are made of. Anyway, if you were close to me I'd hand you some. I've got 20 sitting in my garage as spares.

I also have a bag of 20 in my garage, from a Toyota, but they're pretty much the same.

The wheel lock/key broke when he took them off, so obviously they can't be reused.

I'm surprised you didn't have four spare lugnuts, my Mazda 5 had them.

Good point!! Mine did too. I wonder if the OP looked through the spare parts and/or trunk area? One of the very first de-mod (or maintenance) I did was swap out the locks nuts for the plain ones.

Thanks for the comments and advice. Unobtainium indeed!!
I was being sarcastic. I did find a set at a local Pep Boys, but by then I was too fed up and went to the dealer. They didn't charge me for the replacements. I didn't get a spare set of lug nuts with my 5. The best lesson is simply don't use an impact wrench with the key lock or be very careful if you do. I'm pretty sure the dealer mechanics are using impact wrenches tho. I'm more pissed that I STILL can't find my torque wrench..
