06 Mazda Speed6 GT
Hey newbie here. I am new to the domesticated import side of cars, i had a VW last and loved it till the inside fell apart, and i couldnt leave my car..literally i was stuck inside. I got a 2006 Speed6 GT with 52k on it that is bone stock. So far there are only about 5 Speed's that I know of in OKC, and only 1 other is a 6. Car is liquid platinum with black leather, I want to MOD it out but get the best bang for my buck. Ideas are welcome

Mods I have planned:
TINT
Carbon Fiber hood and trunk
BOV
Straight Pipe exhaust
Bigger Turbo
Front Mount
Intake
Powder Coat Stock Rims till i can afford new rims

Welcome to the Mazda family. There's a bunch of good info here and great people. I'm not too knowledgeable with MS6's but I know there's a few great first mods that are almost a must such as the rear motor mount and short shifter. The rear diffs have some upgrades available as well. Do a bunch of research before throwing on parts. We wanna keep you around for a long time.

dont worry i will research..learned it is a must with the first car i ever worked on. not to mention boyfriend and bother in law are both mechanics one mercedes and one at an old shop for hot rods..they would never let me do something stupid. i have already started looking at rear mounts and short shifters..hate the lag now in the stock one.

Thanks for the advice tho!

I use photobucket its really easy, and you can change the size there on the site.

Thats where i made my sig.

If you need any help lmk.

Welcome to the family! Please post some pics! I will point you here because Steve makes some good suggestions on what to do your car first.

thank you. i found that thread shortly after posting on here. i have added on pic so far, working on others. just lost my job today so now i should have some more time to post picks and work on the car, while i look for a new job!

Thanks!

that sucks im sorry to hear that...but i always say everything happens for a reason and youll find a better job that pays more.

That list is a good place to start. I'd probably want to look at a rear engine mount, the SPC ball joints, and if you're planning to drive it hard and launch often, check out some of the rear diff mounts and braces out there (CP-e, SURE, Turbine Tech).

speedracer- thanks and you are right it does..i have surgery in a month anyway, plus i go back to school in a month and a half so it will be a nice break. ill work around the house and on the car

Well hope the surgery goes well and just keep your head up. I did the same thing took advantage in the mean time while i was looking for another job went to school for a year, worked on the car, and helped around the house and with my daughters.

File for unemployment you get some money to help you out and they help to look for a job they have alot of resources on their website and in the resource center.

In the end i found a better job that paid more and to be honest im at work right now on the forum and in a bit im gonna watch DR WHO. SHHH! DONT TELL ANYONE

i will take some pics with the 6 after tint is done this week

as far as the job..it will be better, cuz now i know to work somewhere that no one knows me and doesnt know how to guilt me in to doing things off the clock. I will be in school this fall and will look for something up there, but in the mean time i see a pool and a nice tan in my future. I wish i could get unemployment, but I left before the min amount of time to get it..but meh thats what savings is for.

oh joy..i have now owned my car for 3 days..good think I called insurance this morning, my car now looks like a golf ball..pictures will come after repair..poor car

Speaking of hail...I'm VERY satisfied with the durability of the Speed6...4 cars on the driveway, a Chrysler, Subaru, Ford, and the Speed6...Only the Speed6 didn't get any hail damage..the rest did...

well..our driveway is to small for all our cars, so mine goes in the street and when put against racquetball sized hail..the speed6 did decent. still has some big ol dents..and a cracked windshield..just glad i called and put it on the insurance 4 hours before the storm
