Has anyone ever watched their IC piping stretch? What you ask? Start your MSP, give it a lil blip on the TB and watch the IC piping right next to the grill. I assume the new piping was creating with the ridges so that it could stretch. I guess the first piping kit didn't incorporate these and that's what cause the cracking( it was the winter too!).

Sorry if this was posted already as the explanation to the delay or if i didn't describe it clearly. If you understand this and have a digi camera, please throw up a video of this happening.

Thanks to Shawn @ www.mazdaformance.com for showing me this and taking time outta his weekend to talk with the Mazda Crew (me, Equinox, SuperSpud and mp3girly).

yes, much props to shawn and the advice he's given me. supposed to expect some mods from him soon....anything yet?

maybe if they wouldnt have used cheap plastic s*** in the first place it wouldnt expand like an anus

though something worth pointing out is that the plastic piping does stay relatively cool compared to everything else. metal piping would have gotten extremely hot under the hood.

what more do you want, he built the mazdaformance mp3-t!?!?! lol.

i dunno if its my place to say what he's got in the works he's got a spearco ic sitting in his trunk. :D

yeah and that car hauls ass!! well he's trying to work out a way to control the fuel and timing....just have to wait and see :D

The cheap plastic piping is one of the things that help up the release of the car. They had hard pipes in for the IC, but it would not pass the crash test/national highway safty regs. So they had to go with the cheap plastic s***. :\

This makes me afraid.... very afraid.....(nervous)

It would seem that if you raise the boost and increase the frequency of this expansion (and cooling) you would eventually be guaranteed to blow your IC pipe then throw a rod. Can someone explain if this is not the case?

my freakin ic pipe cracked already:eek:
it cracked where the bypass valve is attached to the intercooler piping up front. The little nipple from the ic pipe to the bypass valve just cracked off. I couldnt believe it. I just used a lot of electrical tape for right now and it seems to be holding but at full boost about 9.9lbs for me, i hear this little farting sound which is the boost leaking out from under the tape. Oh well i guess it will give me some extra incentive to get my hard pipe kit done sooner.

By the way.... Does anyone have that stock ic pipe they would sell me??

I want it back just in case something actually happens.

Thanks, --Bryan
