Soo here's the situation, I hit a pothole a while back and dented my rear passenger wheel. It wasn't that bad of a dent so i didn't notice anything until my tire went flat and put on a spare. Before the wheel went flat i heard a humming noise when i accelerated over 20mph and get it gets louder as i go until 60+mph then it dies down a bit. I put on the spare and the noise was gone so i figured it was the wheel, I got it fixed but the noise is back. I don't have any driving issues at the moment and i've had the wheel on for about 2 weeks. Any ideas on what else could be making the noise???

Damaged on makes noise.
Damaged wheel off, no noise.
Damaged/Repaired wheel on, noise comes back.

Sounds like the repaired wheel isn't completely repaired or may need to be replaced.

Hitting something hard enough to dent a wheel will def call for an alignment as well.

could also be a wheel bearing, but if its fine with a different wheel...maybe not.

to test, jack up that corner, grab the top and bottom of the wheel and move it in and out (like a seesaw). If it moves, your bearing is shot. if not, its something else.
