How fast is a 5spd mazda 6 i ? Supposed to be racing one and i wanna know what i'm up against. Got a modded P5 so i'm looking at it being pretty close. Any ideas?

if its a 4 cyl mazda 6,depending on the mods you have on your p5,you should beat it without any problems,if its a v6,you should have some fun,but possibly keep up with it,and if its a speed 6,dont try, unless you have big mods, you will cry!!!!

intake, exhaust, headers, clutch, flywheel, 1.8 coil conversion, MP3 ecu, and shortshifter. Guess he's goin down ?

he is dead meat!!!!!

its an economy car more than a performer, reliable, good mid price familly car..

b/c he thinks he can beat me and he wants to race. I'm up for anything but if i generally know the outcome i always tell them face to face. I raced an old volvo once and i knew how fast it was. I knew without a fact that i was faster. i told him that i was going to win in the best way i knew how without trying to seem boastful and he still wanted to. so i raced him.

So what? Lots of people think they can beat lots of other people. Laugh at him & move on. Neither one of your cars are speed demons anyway.

thats totally true, and whats the point of a race anyway, loosing your permit, getting into a wreck,or even hit someone,,dont loose your time, its not worth it,you guys should have fun by washing the cars, taking a good beer while talking about your cars projects, theres a lot more fun about cars than racing on the streets....(2thumbs)

Ya know, you guys are right really. Even though we race in secluded areas out in the country late at night theres still that possibility of losing your license or something happening to someone. Lately i've just started going to the local track in Cecil, Ga. It's pretty fun. I might start to race there and keep it off the streets b/c i found out how easy it is to do. Only ten bucks to race all night. i'm gonna tell him its off but if he insists then i'll tell him we'll race at cecil. It's like a twenty minute drive and with only ten bucks we can race all we want. Thanks for the responses guys. : )

well, update. The guy took his car to the local drag strip and ran a 16.7 at the fastest and he was consistently running a 16.9. My consistent time from last time going was a 16.6.
