hey sup i have a mazda 6 i 4cyl automatic and its a nice car, i was wondering if you guys think its worth it to hook up the engine on this car

Hey! Welcome to the forum.

I dont mean to bash, but the automatic transmission will be your weakest link.

Bolt on parts (intake, exhaust) wont do too much in the way of performance on a naturally aspirated car, but will make it sound better. Plus, the trans makes it impossible to get any good power, especially low in the RPM band, no matter what bolt-ons you have.

I say save up all the money you would have put towards bolt-ons, and go for a turbo kit. But then, you have to worry about that auto trans again. They arent designed to be abused or handle lots of extra power.

You dont have to listen to me though. It is your car, do whatever you want. That is the beauty of it all.

the triptronic shifting doesnt matter, because all it does is add a sporty feel. your still not physically controlling the gears. it is useful tho when you want to hold the car in a certain gear.
in my opinion i think the i series madza 6 was underpowered. its to much weight for that size engine.

however, and a short ram intake will give you some sound in the mid rpm range.

im not sure about what the gains will be tho.
dont get an exhaust. it will only make your car sound strange when theres no break in the sound when the gears shift. of course thats my opinion. go with the intake, maybe lower it.

other then that theres not much else preformance wise you could do.
