Dima and those of you that have the bug/rock shield. I am debating between getting one or doing the clear bra. The shield is about $100 usd cheaper, so I am wondering if you have any complaints/concerns about yours? Also would you do it again or go the clear bra route? Thanks for your feed back.

No complaints at all. I had one on mazda 6, currently have it on my 5 and love it. I think it looks really good on white color :)

Get the bug deflector as the design of the leading edge of the 5 hood is very "square" to rocks and puts dents in that area...

Bra Rubs and causes issues if you ask me.

I think he was talking about clear bra, it does not rub nothing, it's like a clear vinyl that goes right on top of the hood, bumper and fenders.

I wanted to protect the whole front end from rocks, so I had the clear bra installed on mine, was gonna do a ceramic clear coat, but didn't kno much about it. I liked the bug deflector Dima has, but they don't sell the oem one in the US....and I wasn't sure about the aftermarket ones....if you look closely, you can see the clear bra, but from a distance you can't tell its there...just not sure what's gonna happen in the long run...like if my paint will be different colors when I remove the film, or if the film will turn yellow in the future, the guy that did it said it doesn't yellow, but he's selling it...soooo

how many stone chips can the clear bra receive until it starts to look ugly and needs replacement?

ooh...that's a good one...I saw some on other cars that had it for a while and they didn't look that bad, I haven't checked since I got it put on, but i'm washing the car tomorrow so i'll check....hopefully i don't put swirl marks on the bra...

Thanks for the feedback from all, after reading and thinking about funds atm, I am getting the hood shield .... i really like how it looks on dima's ride

Thats great at least your doing something....

Now for the future I hope they come out with a rhino cover thin enough to use on the front end and hood edges....

Great feedback - thanks.
I agree - three years and three big chips/dents from debris - not good - time to do something
Now...where can I order the OEM (or another better brand if that is a recommendation) tinted hood bug deflector in the States, and does it more or less tint-match the sunroof wind deflector?

I found what seems to be the part number for the hood deflector on the Canadian Mazda site, 0000-86-0M5A-04. The brochure is from 2007. Will this part also fit on a 2009 model?

Can someone in US order these from a Canadian dealer? Are there any Canadian dealers who let you order online?

Shipping could be a b****, why not just get someone coming this way to pick one up for ya? If you know someone in buffalo or windsor ontario, they can just drive over to get

I emailed Zoom5Zoom's contact (Mike) and he said he can't ship to the US. Dang.
