I have a question. I just joined this site. Anyway I have a 2000 Mazda Protege DX, as you all knwo there is no tach. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to just get gauges from like a LX or Es with the tach and just install it. Basically changing gauges. I have no clue?
Help with DX gauges.

I just replaced a faulty dash in my father's Neon (you tend to replace alot of faulty things in a Neon 
anyways...) and his old one had no tachometer. And it was even a five speed - gasp. He told me real drivers don't need tachs just good ears. Whatever dad
The only cheap dash he could find had a tachometer. Turns out both dashes have the same exact plug - right down to the contacts. He just plugged that one in and voila - working tachometer. I am thinking it might be the same 'universal' plug on your Mazda, especially since it is a newer car than this Neon.
