Has anyone taken their front bumper off (i.e. ION or Spoolin?)

The reason I ask is b/c I would like to know the points where the bumper cover mounts to the body.

Mine is unhooked (and popping out) right under the passenger side head light and I don't know how to put it back on. Is it just a snap thing or does it have to be screwed back on ?

BTW,

There are no impact points or any stress marks showing that the car was hit.. I'm guessing that the heat has caused this? :(

Yep with everyone on the dealer route there should be no reason for you to have to touch it.

But so you know:
There are I believe two screws inside each wheel well that holds the sides on. You get to these by removing three screws from the wheel well plastic thingy. Then the rest of the bumper cover is clip in.
Maybe one of the clips notches broke and that is what is causing it. Either way if there is no damage the dealer should help in replacing it or fixing it.

Oh almost forgot you also would need to remove the upper grill piece.

Yeah I'm hoping there's no damage as well.. but I can see the actual clip and it looks frayed (like it's been rubbing for awhile now)

funnylittlman - there's only a few bolts that actually hold the bumper up. Most of the other parts are plastic "screw/tabs". It should be covered underwarranty. Once you take off the grill, everything is self explainitory.

Thanks ION!

I have a feeling that one of the "tabs" does not tab anymore. I am hoping that this is covered b/c there wasn't any impact or screwing around on my part.. the car is totally stock besides tint and Dave B rings

Exact same thing on my car in exactly the same place. A friend with a P5 also had the same thing happen...odd. It just sticks out a 1/4" or so, but I plan to get it fixed on my next trip to the dealer.

Peace...(hippy)

*Phew

I'm glad that I"m not the only one... I'm sorry to hear that about you too CRDMS1. I'll post back here and let you know what my dealer tells me

Nice catch man on the post number. I've been looking forward to that and totally missed it. Yeah, it's on the passenger side as well. Maybe it's a Virginia thing?
