GI: MBC with creep protection and spool up control

I may have some sources with some industrial companies to get some good components for building manual boost controllers with a range of 0-50 psi that will improve spool up time and be full adjustable to be the way you want it!

So if you'd be interested... let me know.. and about how much you think it'd be worth to you. Right now it looks like I could do the package with all fittings and hose shipped for right around 65-70! So let me know if you'd be interested!

Thanks,

Steve

you'd probably get more response if you posted in the msp section. sad, but true. i may be interested but am poor, i can't even afford a gauge so i can put on my joe p from my last car :)

Yeah... but it's not MSP specific... so I'm just being good :). LOL.. it'll get attention eventually... :) LOL....

and for anyone else reading this as well.. this will be also built to hopefully eliminate the boost creep issue that shoes up with the Profec B Spec II..

this would be a dual stage controller as well. I haven't tested yet to determine it's resistance to spiking, but it will generate faster spool up.

Please don't post the sale of your product in the thread of other possible products. It's rude and inappropriate. And I was very careful not to do that... would have been easy to gauge interest by saying "hey I'll make something like this but cheaper" in everyone elses threads....

It looks like the cost on this would be about 60-75 shipped (I have to built the first one and test it to be sure on the pricing). This comes with the MBC, high quality silicone hose, mounting brackets. This is the straight up everyday order it whenever price.... It is not ready... and I wont' sell it until I have enough interest and then would get the proper merchant status for the board.... but I figured a cost would help out anyone interested.

505, be nice and delete your post. it doesn't belong here.

turf - sounds good to me, but take your time cause i have no money :)

After more researching I think I can pull the cost down to around 55 or 60.. maybe less! :) I will build one and test it and we'll see.. if it works it will be available.. and I'll build them anytime for anyone... so whatever... but I'll post an update once I build the first one... in the meantime anyone interested should just shoot me a pm or post here and I'll keep track of that!

Thanks guys.

Steve

Sorry if you feel like I stepped on your toes or something, I wasn't trying to advertise anything. You just made it sound like all of those features are new and exclusive to the controller that you were talking about... when in fact they are not. That is a great price though, sounds great.(thumb)

ahh... that's cool then! no problems :). Too many people on here jump in and try to sell stuff in other people's threads and it is getting rather annoying! LOL. But all good. I was not aware of the dual stage system you have, so it was cool to get to see what you had going on. Mine won't be switchable like yours, so right there is one diff worthwhile between the two!

Best of luck though for you.

You too Steve, and I apologize again for not being clearer... I agree that the vendor competition sometimes gets a little ugly around here, and I should have worded my first post differently.

No problem :) Glad we are all good... no need for a new Nick Nick battle eh? LOL...

If my MBC gets off the ground I'll definitely kick people your way in the case of wanting the switchable boost levels etc... mine will be single boost level, with adjustable wastegate opening. (Staged wastegate function... ) Ran into some supplier issues though :( and it's going to make things a bit more difficult!

Wrd, me too.

Will it still hook up like a normal MBC? If so, all you would need is a solenoid and switch to make it dual stage. Just a thought for ya.

I hope it all works out for you man.

yeah it'll hook up like a normal MBC... just a little nicer package thant he JoeP and hopefully for less... fewer parts... locking knob for the settings... etc... the solenoid would be great... but the price factor is probably the issue there, I haven't found a cheap solenoid yet. If you have a possible option I'd be all ears! :)

Little disappointed with the response I've seen so far in this thread, but I know there is more interest than this out there... But anyway..

I got parts in, and will be testing on Sunday...

The MBC capable of 7-50 psi control and locks the wastegate until 5 psi for faster spool up time, w/mounting bracket, hose, installation instructions, clamps, warranty of part (but not for any mistakes you make and hurt your car!), and everything you need to mount and install the MBC
$53 (should hold, but may have to change after I start selling, also largely depends on successful testing)

Also, stage 1 is going to be tested as a fix for those with electronic boost controllers that experience boost creep. I believe it can be made to fix that issue, but have to check

you got any pics of the controller? its just that in my opinion, i think anything over 40 for a mbc is to much. but i might consider getting one for that price depending on how much i get paid.

I'll tell you it is far nicer than the other ones I've looked at... I wanted to make something of higher quality and be under what the cost of the JoeP MBC's are (I found them online for like 50 bucks... not shipped...) This one will also work a little different, and hence some of the testing that I will be doing. But depending on the functions I test this weekend it will function one of two ways:

1)Standard turbo function with adjustable higher peak boost
OR
2) adjustable wastegate opening point, with adjustable peak boost
And I'll later pursue trying to be very cost effective at making a dual boost level configuration and some other gadgets. I may also make some electronic add ons at some point as well.. My goal is to make a better nicer product for less than everything else... and I'm putting a lot of effort into it!
