Foglight housing and assembly

uhm.. no.

as far as i know 1st gen MZ6 all have fogs integrated in their headlight assembly.
MS6's only have lower mounted fogs. amiright?
and im fairly sure they use different bulbs... like we use H11 and they use H1 or something like that...

Basically I found a chrome insert or ring, to go around the black fog light housing. It states both Mazdaspeed6 and mazda 6. Just curious.

i believe my MS6 fogs, can in fact fit in the same stock spot for the MZ6.
would have to transplant the whole light + assembly/housing to the MZ6.

but from the factory, we do not have the same fogs...

I hope so. My passenger fog has stopped working completely. I believe the glass is cracked somewhere with all the vibs going to the front end. Water is sitting inside there. Any aftermarket options? Sorry for thread jack.

Let me clarify... The 07-09 Mazda6 and 06-07 MazdaSpeed6 have the same fog light assemblies. They are exactly the same. I see them every day as I work for Mazda...

Nice! That means that only the surrounds are different. So I could pick up a set of fog lights and modify them for HIDs or put it back to stock with those without a problem.

i just noticed this morning that it seems like you may be able to flip to fog lights housing upside down placing the actual lights towards the middle instead of towards the outside of the car.. seems like it would look pretty cool.. is this possible?? if so has anyone done it?

uhmm, no? that would defeat their purpose and simply blind oncoming traffic?
really not sure why you would do that...

i dont understand how it would blind oncoming traffic by moving the lights a max of 5 inches towards the center..?? same light output.. just as low to the ground.. is there something im missing?

i believe the way the fogs are fixed means if you flip them upside down their fixed downward angle would now by fixed upward. into other driver's eyes.

Yea. I don't understand why you would want to do this. Revenge against high beamers perhaps?

its nothing against other cars.. i didnt even think of the angle of the light.. just the position of the lense is toward the outside of the car.. and i looked at in yesterday morning and was thinking "hmm.. i wonder how it would look with the fogs flipped and the light closer to the middle.. nothing with lighting at all.. just thought about it for looks.. and since i didnt think of the angle of the light.. i know its not possible.. and if it is.. its not a good idea to do it.
