I bet ya didn't know that scene where chekov asks that very question, and some woman answers was nor scripted? That is, the woman was not casted until AFTER she answered checkov. When they saw how it came out they got her approval and put it in the final release.

Also, same movie the scene where Kirk almost gets hit by a bus had to be filmed 20 times because it was done in plain traffic in the middle of the day!

I'm sorry, I don't read Hollywood Russian... Does the US have nuclear weasels now? Is this part of the "G-16" engine program? Is it the overdrive component?

I actually knew that, enry, but thats awesome that other people read up on that - makes me feel less nerdish as for the aircraft carrier, the real USS Enterprise was out at sea on the day of filming and it was the USS Ranger that "sat in" for filming. Another scene was cut where Sulu was supposed to meet his "great grandfather" from the past. They could not get the boy to quit crying on the set!

In the upcoming movie they unfortunately had to cut over 30 min of footage. Fortuantely, that included all the scenes with wesley crusher. That means it's safe to go see the movie.

even though they cut his dialogue, you can still see him in the shot itself - sort of a tease. even though they cut all that time from the film, it still is as long or longer than the other films. whoopi goldberg is supposedly reprising her role as well. by the way, if you haven't done so already - buy the TNG full season DVD sets, awesome SH*T.
