Engine go BOOM video clip!

so terry basically your kit will come with everything i need and should be fine.
what about all the idle problems and other little things that i hear about?
and why is it i cannot use a t3? if i cannot use that what will i be using? and also can u please explain y pro5's car went even at WOT?
thanx

About the WOT thing, PRO5 has the t3/t4 hybrid which flows better then the typical t3 turbo due to better volumetric efficiency. Add 4 full sized adults, 120 MPH, 8 PSI of boost, and a FMU as that is limited in what it can do for fuel, the load would be tremendous for stock internals. 8 PSI on a t4/t3 hybrid turbo would be like 9-10 PSI on a t3 turbo. Terry, help me if I'm wrong here.

so as long as i dont put 500 pounds in my car and go in 5th till i redline i should be fine.
so i can race and beat it a bit off lines and stuff like that but dont over do it?

yep,
1st -useless
2nd - useless until going 50 mph
3rd - uselss if under 40 mph

how much is that gonna cost to fix? you could take out all your mods and make mazda fix it under warranty ;)

He already fixed it himself. He got a used engine, and did the swap in his garage. By the way, where you been? You are in Arlington, but I haven't seen you around. "My spoon is too big??"....Someone has been watching that reject video footage huh?

i live down near the lake and usually dont stray too far away from my house...theres only so many places i need to go. hell my cars 6 months old and only has 3000 miles on it...

Hey Dave, you're realy not lucky with your car. Did you have A/F and EGT gauges in your car? :(

You probably are an expert in engine swap now, 2 swap in less than a year!

Oh no! This is the one and only time I blew my motor! I just finally posted the clip of that faithful day.:( God forbid I do blow another motor (knock on wood) I'm ready for it!;)

Dave

Sorry Dave, I though it was an other engine blow!

:D :D :D

It's realy better this way, once is enough! (thumb)

just curious as to if you did tear down the old block, if so what all did you find to be damaged? I am just curious as to what gave, piston or rod? I was thinking of something else on my way to work (I rebuild engines/heads) if i am correct when a car reaches the speed limiter doesnt it cut the fuel and timing? I was thinking that might have had something to do with your mishap, but you were only at like 118, and they cut off at what like 132? Anyway just my brain working, somewhat. if I am not correct then someone increase my knowledge.
Mike

My car cut @ 210kph (130mph) the other day, i guess that's the limit on my car. I'm not sure whether or not it is the same on all protege's?

I haven't read talk about what fuel pump was used...Quite honestly, if it was stock, I'm surprised the motor lasted that long. With a 12:1 FMU @ 8psi we are talking upwards of 100psi - there is no stock pump I know of which can provide enough fuel at those pressures...The size of the turbo wouldn't factor in so much, as would the proper fuel delivery - and FMU is NOT enough...for anything over 90psi of fuel, I'd use a Pierburg inline, or Walbro 255HD intank...

Yeah, when I go up to 8 PSI, I will be using the Pierburg.

Darin your car is beautiful! Reminds me of the days when I had a turbo miata

Thanks :) My Manifold was sent back to GReddy, as it was crackin...so I'm back to NA now :(... For now...hehe
