well for future reference you need a spacer for the radiator neck. thank good i had some extra hose and a water neck temperature sender that i used as a connector now i have a super long hose.. well everything is going soso i tried replacing a stripped stud and i think the larger replacement has off centered. the mani. 10mm stud is way to big
well the cars at the muffler shop. I had to leave it there while i took care of some chores. Ill take pics of the pipe when hes done he was not able to use my elbow piece. He couldnt clear the nuts on the studs due to the thickness.
well everything fits. you need a spacer for the water neck and swap the hose clamp on the oil to a turn style i forget the technical name. How do i like it well my car is down right now. I should not have bummed rush the project. I have a large exhaust leak from the mani from not prepping correctly and both my coolant lines decided to crack and leak from the turbo. And the down pipe well the guy tried but lets just say its one of a kind. lol and then I start crying and lol.
this pic is of the down pipe. You will be able to see that it had such an angle that the guy could not get a good bend with out major pinching. I will be ordering a low profile U bend so home boy could get a second chance at it.
i will be taking the mani out again to try to fix my leak at that point i will take more pics. But for now im glad im driving but it sounds bad with that leak.
Wow? That looks incredibly restrictive. I would go to another exhaust shop because if that is the best that they could do and not at the very least use a mandrel bending machine to make a better flowing and looking pipe section to weld in to your existing piping then they just flat out took your money. I suspect that picture will be infamous for what not to do!
thats the plan ya i got took on this one thats where paying cash is no bueno. no reciet no dispute. I WILL FIX THIS. The down pipe is good its my j pipe that is jacked actually my l-pipe. wtf. lesson learned and no prob Brian this is truely not expectable.
So sorry Chiqles. Find a better shop, perhaps one that specializes in custom exhaust systems.
When you say you needed a different clamp for the oil, do you mean right at the oil return on the block because it has that big spring style clamp? Are you worried about the downpipe being that close to a rubber hose? Mazda gave us a heat sleeve, but it can only do so much.
