Dynamating doors......question

I'm getting my Boston Pro 6 1/2" front speakers installed soon and I was planning on having them dynamat my doors. My questions is....you know the plastic that seals the inside door cavity.......obviously they have to remove it to install the dynamat- but is this plastic neccisary? Is it there for moisture purposes....will I encounter any problems after it's removal?

Lastly, where is the best place to hid the cross-overs? Anybody do them under the seat with their amps....is there enough room for 2 amps, 2 caps, and a set of cross-overs under the two front seats?

Unless they are running new wires into the doors the, crossovers will be put in the doors.

When I dynamatted my doors I reused the plastic ontop of the dynamat.

If you're going to cover all the holes in the door with Dynamat, you don't need to reinstall the plastic stuff. Otherwise, you need to at least cover the open spots.

Crossovers under the seats works fine, but youy'll need to run new wires, as 1st MP3 in NH said. I think all that stuff would fit as well.

I have the Boston Pro's in my car and have the doors dynamatted. I taped the holes shut just to be safe. I also have the crossover in my doors as well. Everything fits fine.

The thing about the cross-overs in the doors is....isn't there a chance of it beign exposed to unessisary moisture. I mean wont they be "in" the door, behind the area the Dynamat/Plastic covers for moisture.

What's the most common way to dynamat the doors- is it to cover up the holes with the dynamat itself, or re-use the plastic. And if your re-using the plastic how do you re-apply it?

Lastly, what would be the risk if the holes in the door weren't covered, dare I ask?

Yes the crossovers will be exposed to moisture, unless you can get themon the outside of the vapor barrier aka the plastic.

The plastic if taken off easily will go back on just fine. Its sealed on with butal rubber that is sticky as hell.

I'f they'll fit you might want to try mounting the crossover in the door pockets and just using some small holes for the wires which you can use blkack silicone to seal around. That way everything is away from water.

I think If I were to redo the dynamat in my doors, which right now is jst xtreme over the entire thing. I would use tape or something to cover the holes but only little of the metal first then dynamat the doors.
