ok, here is my dumb question...
what is the real diff. between a stage 1,2 & 3 turbo? no, i dont even know what "stage" or car is, or if it is even at any kind of stage at all.... i am new to turbo, as this is my first non NA car.
(peep)

Typically the stage's are just how far you go, i.e. how extreme the turbo is.

I suggest you use the amazing new feature designed to help the new people. You can see it up above, just underneath the banner; between the Chat and Members buttons.

better yet, here is a link

Depends on who is selling the kit. "Stage" means the same as level, or in other terms, "amount of money in ye ole pocket" In Spools instance, Stage one consist of the turbo, a log style?(maybe shorty) manifold, and the oil lines. Fine for getting basic boost. Still have to find your own downpipe.

Stage 2 adds a full tubular manifold, and fuel and electronic parts needed for higher boost, downpipe, and other misc. stuff.

Stage 3 adds an intercooler, for even higher boost. (See how the stages work now)

Stage 4 adds a stand alone computer for...you guessed it...higher boost.

The higher the stage, the more boost, the more money.

I would say your stock P5 is at stage zilcho.

Ok i got it now, and YES i did do a search! ok, so maybe i DIDN'T exaust all of my research options b4 i asked. but hell, what r we going to have to talk about once all questions HAVE been answerd? but seriously, thanx for the info. by the way, its a MSP not a P5, thats why I asked what stage we were at from the factory... & NA means Naturally, or Normally Aspirated.

NA means Normally Aspirated. In other words, no turbo. Just plain ole air sucking.

FI means Forced Induction. That means that the induction (sucking) is forced (under pressure). In other words, turbo.

I suggest going to www.howstuffworks.com and reading their article on turbochargers. It is really good and should give you all the basics you need to be able to understand what people are talking about on the forum.

After that, you can use the search button up on the title bar of the page to look for specific information on the forum. A lot of the questions you might have may already be answered on an existing thread. Search first, then ask. Then don't let anybody get up your ass about searching. Lately people think it makes them look cool to rag on people about whether they did a search when they ask a question. Don't be intimidated.

Welcome to the Forum! You have a lot of fun ahead of you with your amazingly cool car! :D

That's funny! :D I was writing my answer while you were writing the above quote. Same thing goes. Don't let anybody try to make out like they are a seasoned veteran by picking on the noob (that's you chum). Stick it out and once you get past the posturing goobers  you will find a lot of smart people here that can help you.

thank you! that is exactly what i have been itching to tell people around here. just answer the friggin question, and if you are going to refer someone to the search button, it is possible (though I know difficult for some people) to do so without coming across like an arrogant smartass.

just answer the question, especially for newbies - its a good way to start conversation and make people feel welcome, even if some of the information is redundant in the long run. at the very least, give a brief answer and say "hey, you can learn more than what i just told you by using the search function, i believe you'll find theres alot of info on {insert topic here} on this forum"

DaKidd, contrary to the title of your thread, there is no such thing as a stupid question. if you want to be called stupid, there are plenty of people over here that like to do that. people on this forum tend to be alot nicer.
