ok, I really want to get a downpipe for my msp.. the problem is, the only one that I know of that ppl have, throws CEL's.. (apex)
my friend told me that I can go to midas or whereever and get one made, and as long as it has an o2 sensor bung, the CEL wont come on.. is this true? I can get rid of both my cats, and as long as my o2's have a place to plug in, it will be ok? no CEL?

if that is not true, then has apex come up with a solution for the CEL problem yet? they sed they were testing the CEL fix from ponyexpress or wherever....

ok, so what would/should I do? get a down pipe made with just one cat?? b/c isnt there two cats on the down pipe? and isnt there only one o2 sensor??

from what I have gathered,, I believe there is one o2 sensor onthe exhaust manifold, and the other is on one of the cats... true or false?

wait what? could you go into detail here?? Im kinda new at this cat, o2 sensor CEL jazz..
LOL sure
the system needs to have at least one cat in place. the first O2 sensor monitors A/F ratio in closed loop. the second monitors how well the cat is functioning. i there is no cat at all it will see a voltage similar to the front sensor and the ecu will think that the cat is damaged or not working right. this will trip a cel. by mounting the second O2 behind the aftermarket high flow cat it will see a voltage diffrenec btween the two sensors and think everything is ok
then no cel :D

ohhhh... ok... I see... are there two cats on our cars?? will it be ok if there is only one cat???
yes there are two cats . if you go with one then you have to relocate the O2 sensor behind the second one:)

question, So with the Mp3 could we do the same thing? I mean if we were to go with a certain type of headers, (AWR), which would automaticaly get rid of that first cat, then after the headers put a hi-flo cat on but relocate the O2 sensor after the cat then I should not run into any problems right?
Thanks,
Anthony
