So I have my written test on March 21st at 9am to start the career track of being a Gwinnett Co. Policeman. Crazy I know but it's a career that I thought was a great fit for me. So, if all goes well, I'll see you speedin' fools on the roads. Don't know how much slack I could let you guys get away with but we'll see.

Wish me luck. I am studying my ass off for this. (They sent me a link to the Study Guide but I think it's cake to throw you off.)

Good luck man.

I'll need you to inspect my race car once it's built... so I can get a tag to keep it in the driveway. =)
I'd like to also hear results of the laser jammer from the other side of things.

Very cool, my brother-in-law just recently got accepted in an employment position with them, he had to go through a LOT of different testing, etc.

Yeah I know they are going to (if I get accepted) through a lot of psychological testing, physical endurance, etc. I think I am fine.

Thanks for all the best wishes. I'll need them to keep my nerves down. I am not a good test taker but I am better than I was.

Also, I won't be a jerk cop. Ever see Super Troopers? Yeah, something like that.

I can't make any promises Prodigy but I can do my best :D

don't you have heart condition that kept you out of the military? won't that have an affect on your employability?

Who knows? When I did the military thing I was 18. Since then, I've been told my condition is better. I guess we'll see though huh? I was actually thinking about that too. Because I figure if they let me into the Police Academy, then perhaps I can serve my country like I'd hoped.

Update!

So I went today to test. I passed the written test and was moved on to the prelim orientation where we rec'd all the paperwork, were told what to expect, shown a video of the "academy" (which looks like a boatload of fun), and basically just told, "Don't lie, or you're fired." Seriously, they said if they catch you lying, you're done. So I suppose I should tell them about my homosexual adventures when I was on some serious pcp trips huh? (All a joke if you are my future boss in the GCPD looking at all my "hidden" internet stuffs).

Anyhow, the Academy looks intense. It's like boot camp lite. I'll be getting pepper sprayed and then forced to do pushups. I was told tazering will be administered. Shot at with rubber bullets that are equivilent to paintballs using super tight springs. Yelled at constantly by instructors. I knew all this going into it though. It's like Mike joining the Marines, he knew what he was doing so it should come as no shock if they deploy him to Iraq. Same deal, only no terrorists (yet...).

So anyhow, thanks for all the support guys and maybe (hoping I pass and get accepted) we can get some sick shots of some Mazdas and my PD Cruiser. (five-0)(shady)

Just make sure you dont have ANY past credit issues... outstanding debt, late payments etc. will screw you.. Makes you more likely to take a bribe. Also, have fun with that pepper spray. One of my really good friends is a police officer in Maryland and he said he'd rather get tasered for 1 full minute or more than get hit with that pepper spray again.. he's also got scars from the taser..

oh and get rid of any myspace or facebook accounts. that will screw you as well.

They went through all the credit s*** with us. They said that because the economy sucks, they will be able to overlook some stuff. They said as long as you show that you are trying to pay stuff off and not just letting it accrue, then you're fine. I don't have bad credit nor do I have any outstanding debt.

Also, pepper spray, not looking forward to it but whatever. The tazer, whatever. I guess I know that the pain will mean a stable job as well as more income a year (try like 11K more).

It's Gwinnett. I thought they only used Impala's.

And Dodge Intrepids (rofl2)
