Ok, so basically every test will be done right on the connectors, correct?

Basically yes,... You test the wires going to the sensor for resistance ,... you test the wires leaving the sensor to make sure they're not grounded or broken (open circuit).

Great, is this done with the car on or off. Also, the wires going to the sensor are the ones to have 15.7 ohms correct the ones coming out of the sensor should be at zero when unplugged?

With the car off unplug the sensor and test the two wires coming from the sensor for 15.7 ohms.
After that, test the other side of the connector. Ground one lead of the ohmeter to the chassis touch the other lead to each terminal in the connector to make sure you DON'T get zero ohms,... That would mean that the wire is shorted to ground.
