cleaning Racing Harts

I want to pull off my wheels and clean them in and out. What is the best type of cleaner to get off all the road grime, and keep the nice finish on the visible part of the rim as well? Any certain stuff you guys use??

OrangeMSP introduced me to "Never Dull". It's in a small chrome can at most auto stores. It looks/feels like cotton but it's perfect for getting the rims bling bling clean. I haven't ever gone so far as to take off the wheels to clean them, though.

EDIT: And you can use the Never Dull stuff for all of the metal piping in the engine bay. Turns the dull look into shiny goodness.

I use Meguiars Hot rims, then Mothers Rim polish. talk about Smooth looking rims.

i use soap and warm water and mine always clean up percfect. Once in a while i pull them off and use mothers rim polish.

i just use soapy water, but i am tempted to use never dull. my friend used them on his civic si rims and they looked like he cleaned them every single time i saw him, but it had been weeks since he actually did (thumb)

Okay, I got the Never Dull polish...It was only $4. I didn't get around to using it yet, but I'll let you guys know tomorrow(Wednesday). Thanks for your input

I used Eagle one a2z on my aluminum rims, and while it worked great, i think it finished stripping what little clear coat was left on them, because now after this winter's months and months of no washing, i got black spots i cant remove anymore. even metal polish wont take it off, let alone the a2z stuff
Anyone else had a bad xp with it?

simple green will loosen pretty much everything and then take a sponge and wipe then rinse off. it's like cleaning an oven if you've ever done that.

Watch out! if you rub too hard with this stuff it can take off any protective laquer. I would know I went to military school for four years and have shined many belt buckles withthis stuff

UPDATE!!

Okay, I just got done cleaning my car...I pulled off the wheels, and cleaned them inside and out, then used the Never Dull on the viewable side of the rims. I must say, they look and feel absolutely awsome!! Aside from a few light nicks and scratches, these look better than the day I picked up the car. I will definately be getting more of this stuff when I run out. And for $4 you can't beat that kind of deal. I would say there is at least another 5 uses left in that can I bought.
