I have a large Camelbak bottle that won't fit in the Mazda 5 stock front cup holders because it's tapered in reverse - the top is slimmer than the base. To remedy this I went to Lowes and bought a plastic pipe coupling for about $4. I had originally thought to use a white PVC coupling and paint it black to match my interior but I found a black one right across the aisle from the white stuff. It just barely fits in the larger of the two front cup holders - I had to force it in a little bit but that makes for a very secure fit and I can still get it out whenever I want. If you wanted to you could always file down the threads on the coupling; I don't think it would take too long. Anyway, as it's black it looks pretty close to stock and fits my Camelbak bottle perfectly. I'm stoked that it works so well and I didn't have to pay a lot of money or make any permanent changes (like drilling holes or whatever) in the car.
