The wifes 06 is due for a tranny fluid change, I have 3 bottles of Redline D4 ATF in the garage from some BMW work, can I use this in her 5?
Also, she is showing a CEL, is there a way to self read the CEL code on these cars without going to the dealer?
Thanks!

I'm just going to have the dealer scan it when my wife drops by.
Anyone know about using the Redline in the tranny?

You have to watch Redline. I use 5w-20 Redline in my Mazda5, Mazda MX3, and Ford Focus. I even use Redline in my KLR 650. However, it is not API certified. Therefore, technically I will not have any warranty work honored by Ford or Mazda. Redline says that is compatible and suitable for everything that you could ever want, but it's not certified and they conveniently, for them, leave that out. If your car is under warranty I would seriously consider researching if we have to use a certified tranny fluid. Redline acts like they're proud that they're not API certified, but it's just a really lame and defensive response in my opinion. I think they're just being cheap asses.
