Car Insurance

:
2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
So I got my car insurance bill in the mail today for this next year. I am now a step 22 with a premium of $3,700 for the year. Yeah...ouch...that sucks. It has reached the point that it is not worth it to me to pay that much money just to have the privilege of driving a car. I can get to work via the Green Line or Commuter Rail. I will be selling my car in November and retiring from the Mazda community...unfortunately. I picked November since that will put 2 complete years of payments onto my credit report and help out the credit score that way. Hey, at least now I will have the money freed up to start saving for a condo.

I just went up from a step 10 to 14 because of the accident in january....some kind of No Fault Law or something...4 points for avoiding a freaking plow?????what the hell????

Jeremy

i dont know about points but i have no tickets of any kind of accidents of any kind on my record....hopefully it will drop significantly from 3200 when i renew in january since i will be 25.

wow, i could not afford my car insurance to be over what I am paying now.

My two cars and house insurance is around $2850.00 with high limits of liability.

^^Holly crap, you're not 25 yet?

yeah, being over 25 and married has it's advantages; I have full coverage on both cars, a discount for direct withdrawls and a discount for my homeowner's policy as well, so my car insurance bill is less than 2g's year.

wow! i pay $5 for the p5, a 95 isuzu pickup and a 96 explorer...oh ya, i'd hate to see you go!!

We have 4 cars (99 cavalier covertible, 98 ford ranger, 82 mercedes 380sl & my pro5) full coverage on the ranger & protege, QQ plates & insurance on the sl... $2300/yr and New Jersey is one of the worst... guess it pays to be married. so go get a chick that can cook and get married... problem solved.

Just because you wont have your mazda doesnt mean you cant hang here with us.

Let that be a lesson to you, don't live in CT or MA and expect to pay reasonable insurance fees.
My STi was half of that a year and I have 5 tickets since I got my liscense and 1 that is still on my record.

wow that sucks, i hate massachusetts insurance. the insurance companies are lobbying to change to a normal system but so far unsuccessful.

slug, why is yours so expensive? do you have all of your aftermarket parts covered as well?

I gather turbocharged vehicles have an increased rate over NA, is this correct and if so is there a specific amount or per Ins. Co.?
