Canadian P5 Owners I have a question about pricing

Hello All,
Today I went shopping for my 2003 Protege5 and so far the dealer is willing to take off only $ 500.00 . That is the bottom line savings . Please tell what your bottom line savings was. To me he can do better than $ 500.00 as I am going back on Saturday for another visit .
Please give me your input and tell me if where you bought your P5 is where you are getting it serviced as well . I would like to compare apples to apples so that is why I need your true savings.

Thank you,

Dan From Ontario, Canada (canada) (redp5)

$500 seems mighty low to me. When I got my P5 (Feb '02) I got a dealer cost report from carcostcanada and there was about $1400 markup on a 2002 P5 with air and sunroof. I walked into the dealer and without even negotiating their first offer was $680 off MSRP. I believe we eventually agreed on around $800 off with some discounted accessories thrown in as well.

Might be worth a drive to the next closest Mazda dealer to you to see if they're more willing to deal. I get mine serviced where I bought it but you're not obligated to by any means.

bmorton is right,

I went to 3 mazda dealers.. and theres one of them wich WOULDNT even drop a penny on my 2003 P5.

i was trading in my pro '00 lx for a pro5.
one dealer offered me a measly $9,000 :bs: and the 2nd mazda dealer offered me $13,000 so it shows you what can happen if you shop around a bit.
i'm no longer with that cheap dealer...they lost my business for sure.

I just got my '03 P5 a week ago. Came with moonroof, air con, sport exhaust, bumper guard, wheel locks, auto tranny... about $23500

23500 with or with taxes?

spoet exhaust? the mazda sport one?

23500 is the buying price I believe, no tax yet

20K for P5, auto tranny +1500, roof and a/c + 1500
with other stuffs, = 23500.....

maybe I should've been more specific. i got a great deal on the car. that's 23500 with freight and taxes. and yeah, it's the mazdaspeed exhaust i got for free

markup on the P5 is $1600 CDN. My dealer took off $1600 for me and threw in a whole bunch of stuff for me. Only cuz i knew him...

but the $1600 markup is what they can play with.

mine,

23 000 without taxes = car + 1300 auto tranny+ 1000 air + 800 preparation & some goodies...

Hi Joygasm.. is it a used car? $23500 sounds unreal since i got my 03 P5 for $24100 = 5 spd, A/C, no moonroof, no exhaust

By the way, i'm from the T.O. area

I paid $26000(auto,air,no sun roof) at advante in Richmond Hill.I know you can get better. That is only about $900 off

back in jan. i bought the 03 p5 for about 24150... w/o tax comes with air, auto, moon,
they didnt' drop a penny on the car..
the only deal was on my used 02 rsx

I bought mine in september 2002.. I think I got "good" price...because the 03 wasnt really available here in Montreal at that time LOL

I rather buy a used RSX than a new P5, hehe
That's the reason I bought a used MP3 instead of a P5....
RSX need to be Type-S for me, if not....it's a waste of my $ to put mods on it.

so what is the car you get at MSRP / on the road ?

btw, do any of you know about the new graduate cash award ? ($600)... so in this case.. can i get $1600 + $600 = $2200 off the dealer ?

Vancouver area :) I have a buddy working at Jaguar. Managed to pull some strings with her friends at Mazda. I went to 3 different dealerships before deciding. Never just settle for the first one you walk into. There is always a better deal out there.
