Can the quarter panel be removed?

So, my wife backed into a pole by accident and dented what i guess would be the quarter panel.. the lowr passenger side... the area adound the gas door.... I have not had a chance to really look over it yet. But i was curious if anyone knows if the Panel can just be removed and replaced... i would much rather not go through insurance,any help is much appreciated

I too want to know. I have a small crease right on the "rounded" corner and I'd like to PDR it. But I'm wondering what's behind there before I start tearing off interior panels.

It looks like it's part of the unibody.
