Howdy all,
I'm a forum newbie who owns a 2002 Protege 5 with a dead engine. Apparently I didn't notice the water temp increasing late one night and cooked things good. I got the head milled and re-installed but the shop guys said the compression was way low, meaning my rings are toast too (and who knows what else). I'm hoping there is a cheaper alternative than a $2800 stock long block from AutoZone. Can anyone recommend an good new or used engine supplier or other idea? Thanks guys.
