ARSCCA Novice School Roll Call

Wow...I hate you guys.

Guess that's why I'm doing the equivalent here...but in a gutted out Fiat spec car.
All day training & hot laps for $300!?!? F**K yeah FTW.

I'm trying to picture a Fiat running "all day" at a track day without breaking down.
It sounds like fun!

I may be there to instruct also...still not sure about my schedule that weekend.

I'm just trying to picture a fiat that runs all day period...

Fix It Again, Tony!

it should be interesting to see how everyone improves after this school i'll be looking foward to the auto-x the next day

People = Luke...the guy who takes it one step closer to the edge each time he steps foot in a car.
Go for it Iceman!

By the look of it, one step closer to the edge is a good thing. He seems to spend a lot of time on the wrong side of the edge.

...aaaaaaand full.

On a side note, does a Porsche 914 really go into STS?

most likly yes those things had a very very low power output...but they handle very very well. I would actually think they would belong more in STS2 but thats me

Nope, no backseat keeps it out of STS. Maybe STS2 but I think the layout or weight prevents it.

I'd have thought STS2 maybe.

Oh well. It's the novice school. I'm sure there are a few mistakes in registration. There also happens to be an A Stock CRX...

Sounds like it is legal for STS2 to me:

14.11 STS2
This class is considered optional for Regional events and will be
offered as a supplemental class at all National Tour and Pro Solo
events. STS2 follows the STS rule set, but the eligible cars will be
restricted to two-seaters with engine displacements of 1.9 liters or
less. This class includes a number of popular vehicles, including the
Honda CRX and del Sol, Mazda Rx-7 (non-turbo, 79-92) and Miata
(90-97), Toyota MR2 (85-89), as well as other similar vehicles.
STS category rules 14.1 to 14.10 apply. Furher, as in STS, only
original equipment viscous limited-slip differentials are legal in STS2.
Excluded vehicles include Lotus (all), Mazda Miata (99+), and
Toyota MR2 (91-95 and 00+).

what type of diff do they have? If it's open or viscous they're good. Anything else and they're not

Woot! I just closed a deal on a set of Integra "Fat Fives" for $100. Now the new (to me) R-compounds will have something to sit on...while they wait in the garage for me to be ready for them.

The Novice school was a ton of fun. I think I got about 20+ runs in on the big course altogether, and got a LOT faster over the course of the day. Everyone I talked to got significantly faster as well. Thankfully, the all-seasons lasted quite well. Thanks to Brian for helping me get faster in the morning!

Yeah, we had a couple of casualties today. Muff's clutch is toast too. Everybody LOL at Muff and Luke as they drive a Honda tomorrow! It doesn't even have VTEC, yo!!!

Well, the clutch is fine, it's the hydraulics associated with it. Scott, I didn't hear about your diff until I was on my way to dinner. That freakin sucks dude. Are you gonna replace it @ your place? Let me know if you need a hand or anything else (I'm pretty sure you've got tools covered... if you don't, invite Todd and we'll have plenty of tools on hand (breakn))

And ya, Honduh - v3eT4k = t3h lame! Actually it's the 2nd time I co-drive that car. It's a lot better prepped now so I'm looking forward to it. Can someone remind me how you drive a wrong wheel drive car @ 10/10ths? I think I may have forgotten...

I'll post up the sad car on the wrecker sometime, hate to see it like that, but I figured it would happen sooner or later, was just wishing the clutch would need to go first so i coulda just welded up the diff since I had the tranny off anyways. oh wells, s*** happens and I can't take money into the afterlife so I better spend it here.
