AC expspansion valve replacement

How do you go about replacing the AC exspansion valve on a 2000 Mazda Protege ? SO far it looks like I am going to have to remove ALL of the crap below the passenger airbag including the blower motor and the evaporator core and all . Is there any easier way to replave this valve than taking all of this crap out ?

From what I can tell you'll probably need to pull the dash. I've stripped few of these cars and I can't imagine getting to it any other way. The entire blower housing needs to come out to get at the valve.
