80 # Lab + Mazda 5 = dog container???

Hello, I am new to this form and we are looking for a way to contain our 80# Chocolate lab to the rear of the vehicle. We have purchased a steel wall thing, but it seems to be a real hassle for my wife to remove and install.......so my question is there a fabric mesh that can be used? and were would i find one?? We are located in Ontario, Canada

Any advise would be appreciated

Thanks

I have the same dog and I put it at the rear with a dog harness that is restrain with a seatbelt like this one:

So if I have a collision we will not receive the dog on our back and the dog will be safe. I Like it a lot because you can put your leash on it when the ride is done !

I had 2 110lbs Rottweilers in these harnesses. Definitely the safest solution for your dog AND for whoever's in front. I'd go with that too! About 20-30$ each, depending on the size, at any good Pet Shops. Be careful though cause some of them do not come with the strap to buckle the harness.

Picked one up last night. About $45.00 Cnd. She looks good. Gives me piece of mind that she will be safer if and accident did occur. Thanks again guys great site

You are Welcome, nice dog BTW ! I have a brown Lab too ! i love theses dogs, i have 2 kids and this dog is perfect with kids !

Speaking of dog cages... the sister of an old girlfriend used to throw a fit unless her mom let her ride in the dog cage in the back of station wagon (this was late '70s, seatbelts weren't required). The mom got a lot of weird looks of course but her kid was happy.
