A friend came over and started helping me with my fuel tank. Since the Z32 gas tank as the main fuel pump and helper pick up we decided to put them both into the stock gas tank.
Sadly she is taking a back seat to having to work on the house. But I did something cheap, bought some LED lights for the gauges. Seem to light up a bit better.
Well nothing really new. Picked up some fuel lines, tube bender, tube flanger, and a gas tank restore kit from eastwood. Hopefully get the fuel tank reinstalled soon.
Got to love ghetto engineering and ratsun recycling, radiator is all mounted. Got some scrap metal from a friend and welded it to the bottom, then grabbed an old license plate from a previous car and made the top holder. It goes around and lips under the top of the radiator. I'm happy with how my ratsun Irene is coming out so far.
I know it doesn't looked centered, but it is pretty close to it. I measured from the fenders, plus the radiator isn't flat across the top.
Wow been a long time since I've updated this thread. Sadly didn't get to work on her much last year, was dealing with a move from KC to Indianapolis.
Realized I was in over my head with the wiring/turbo of the SR20DET, so got lucky and found a shop here in Indy that was looking for a SR to put into a kids 240. Swapping motors, and I'm getting quite a bit of parts form the shop in the trade. Been picking up a few parts for my baby in the time being though.
Here she is in the shop with the engine pulled. The current rides in the shop are:
S13 getting an RB25
S14 with sr20det (owners ride)
S13 with q45 V8
RSX getting rhd conversion
s13 getting SR20
Pulsar GTI-R (true JDM)
R32 Nissan Skyline
And my 510.
Oh lol, I'm not partial to either motor. I was just having a hell of a time getting the turbo setup and getting it all wired up. Luckily I found a shop out here in Indy that was looking for a SR to put in a running S13, so she should be running sooner and easier. Hopefully. I was originally going to do a KA until I got a "deal" on the SR.
Now if I could get my hands on a rwd VE (na) rather than a det, I would be all over that. A guy about 50 miles from me put one in his 510, after tuning was getting around 220 whp. Unreal for a non turbo 2.0.
The downside is that motor never really came in rwd as far as I can tell. You have to take an fwd head and modify the oil journals to mate to a rwd DE block. The benefit is variable lift and timing. That engine was so bad as though. Sounded amazing and had a super fat power band.
