My GOSH!!! I've been dricing ALL over town looking for higher octane feul..... And all along it's right downthe street from my house! :wtf:

The mobile right by the checker autoparts on Chandler Blvd & 44th has 101 octane fo $3.99 a gallon (for any of you in AZ).

I pulled up and was filling up right next to a new 911 turbo. I couldn't help but stare... The only difference between me and that guy- besides his shweet ass car- was that $3.99 a gallon wasn't much for him- when for me it's like my Christmas preasent to myself. :( hehe

But my god, the car runs SOOOO good with it. I pushed her hard and still heard the faint crackle-so I'm seriously guessing it's not ping. I think it's the damn FPR.

When does your crackle happen? Does it happen when you first stomp on the gas and the boost comes on, or does it happen when you've been underboost and then it crackles? If you stomp on the gas and it crackles, does it still crackle after you've changed gears? Sorry for all of the questions, but I may have experianced a similar problem on a different car. Please let me know, or you can email me.

No,

The crackle I hear is after under max boost for more than 3 seconds at high rev.

That sounds like when it would start pinging...but then again if your FPR is under a lot of stress that could cause it in that situation too...is it possible that something is just rattling though?

Then I would have your fuel pressure checked under boost. That sounds like your fuel pressure is falling off. What are you using for pump/s?

It could ping at any point in the rev range

Not sure what that has to do with anything???

Yes, but you have to first assume that it is pinging, so you don't blow the engine up trying to find a rattle.

Yessir,

It could be a number of things... But I will say that since the 101 octane was put in- I haven't really heard any noise.

If that IS the case, then more than likely it was ping....

but like I've been saying my FP guage is ghetto and rattles when you handle it- so it could also be that just going nutts at high feul psi.

I will do more investigating this weekend- with the added cooler plugs that might just fix it all together.

The reason stutters still has ping is because he has advanced timing still... I don't... Notice their last sentence saying they will need to ditch the MP3 ECU or just reprogram it. Reprogramming it will definitely fix everything due to the ECU taking out feul.

I haven't heard ping in a week and have driven it very hard. I have a feeling the 101 octane feul did most the work, but the plugs are not a bad idea for anyone who has gone forced induction.
