1.6L Transmission on a 2.0L engine?

Hi,

i have a 2003 Mazda Protege with a 2.0L engine and a desprate need for a new transmission, would it be possible to put the transmission from my 2001 1.6L in? i now the gear ratios are different, but is their anything else? will the transmission even bolt to the engine?

Those transmissions are totally different. The Fs-De (2.0) is a G-series and the Zm-De (1.6) is a F-series. They will NOT interchange...

Actually the FS-DE will work just fine with a F series tranny. You require some parts to make it work, like flywheel and a different clutch IIRC.
